As our ideal candidate, you will play a key support role in contentious estate, trust, and capacity matters. Top responsibilities include:



Open, organize, and manage estate litigation files, including conflict checks, retainers, and ongoing file maintenance Monitor litigation deadlines, limitation periods, and court calendars Prepare, draft, format, file, and serve court documents in accordance with procedural rules Assist with motions, applications, mediations, discoveries, and trial preparation Organize, review, index, and summarize large volumes of estate, financial, medical, and evidentiary documents Manage document production, undertakings, exhibits, and briefs of authorities Conduct legal and factual research related to estate, trust, and capacity disputes Draft correspondence and procedural materials under lawyer supervision Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, experts, and third parties Assist clients with information gathering and procedural steps in a professional and sensitive manner Prepare and track billing, disbursements, and accounts receivable Support estate administration matters connected to litigation, including passing of accounts and trustee disputes Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive family and financial information

About You:



We are seeking candidates with the following education, experience, and attributes:



Diploma in Legal Assistant, Law Clerk, or Office Administration (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). At least one year of experience providing administrative or legal support in a professional office environment. Previous experience in a litigation law practice is considered a strong asset. Strong technical proficiency, including advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Highly organized, with the ability to work closely with lawyers daily to manage file requirements, respond to client requests, and ensure files are accurate, complete, and well maintained, including preparing and organizing documents for review. A strong commitment to delivering exceptional client service, with pride and confidence in the quality of work produced. Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team, supported by strong interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective time management skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to identifying needs and contributing solutions.

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $48,000.00-$56,000.00 per year
