Harrison Pensa is actively recruiting for a Law Clerk to join our Integrated Recovery Services group. Our Integrated Recovery Services group is a highly specialized Creditor's Rights department responsible for high volume commercial and consumer debt recovery legal work. The Law Clerk will be responsible for rendering legal and clerical assistance focused on unsecured commercial and consumer debt recovery, with a specific focus on mortgage enforcement action.

Key Responsibilities include:

Communicate with clients and external parties, regarding ongoing file management; Request tax certificates, prepare notices of sale, eviction instructions; Prepare settlement documents, motion records, factums, affidavits, affidavit of documents, and other court documents according to instruction or precedents; Prepare responses to requisition letters, coordinate property sale transactions with appropriate parties; Prepare applications and portfolios in collaboration with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Group; Ensure documents associated with files are scanned into the File Management Systems, in accordance with the protocols and policies; Ensure daily Bring Forwards are completed in accordance with the work plan guidelines; Other duties as required.

The successful candidate ideally has the following qualifications:

Post-secondary Law Clerk Diploma; 1-3 years' previous Law Clerk experience; Experience with managing litigation portfolios; Experience in mortgage enforcement or real estate law considered to be an asset; Ability to negotiate settlements as well as drafting Small Claims Court and Superior Court documents; Organizational, attention to detail and time-management skills; Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite; Courteous, client focused and professional attitude; Demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and written; Ability to work as a team player as well as independently;

We offer a salary commensurate with experience and a collegial environment.

The compensation range for this role is between $45,000 and $52,000.
