The firm supports sophisticated private and institutional lending transactions for Indigoblue Mortgage Investment Corporation, Indigoblue Management Corporation, Indigoblue Capital Corporation, and related entities.
The Opportunity
Indigoblue Law PC is seeking a Senior Law Clerk to play a key role in supporting mortgage conveyancing and mortgage enforcement matters, while also providing high-level administrative and operational support to senior leadership.
This is a substantive legal support role, not a junior or entry-level position. The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Lawyer and President & CEO, take ownership of complex files, and assist with enforcement matters from initiation through resolution.
This role is fully in person at our Etobicoke office.
Key Responsibilities
Mortgage Conveyancing & Enforcement
Manage residential and commercial mortgage conveyancing files from intake to registration
Conduct title searches, prepare closing documentation, and complete Teraview registrations
Draft and prepare mortgage enforcement documentation, including demand letters, Notices of Sale, Statements of Claim, affidavits, and sheriff enforcement materials
Track enforcement timelines, redemption periods, and compliance requirements
Liaise with external litigation counsel, court staff, sheriffs' offices, and land registry offices
Maintain and organize enforcement and conveyancing files with a high level of accuracy
Litigation & Legal Support
Support civil litigation processes related to mortgage enforcement, including filing, service, scheduling, and document management
Prepare court-ready materials and assist with motion and hearing preparation as required
Executive & Operational Support
Provide high-level administrative and scheduling support to the President & CEO
Prepare correspondence, memoranda, reports, and internal documentation
Assist with corporate records, contract administration, and general office operations
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Law Clerk in real estate law, with meaningful exposure to mortgage enforcement
Strong understanding of the mortgage conveyancing and enforcement process in Ontario
Hands-on experience with Teraview and related conveyancing platforms
Experience supporting civil litigation files is a strong asset
Excellent written communication, proofreading, and organizational skills
High attention to detail and strong file management skills
Ability to manage competing deadlines independently in a fast-paced environment
Post-secondary education in Law Clerk, Legal Assistant, or Paralegal Studies required
