SCOPE OF POSITION

: Responsible for general laundry duties as assigned. These may include the sorting, loading, and folding of laundry and delivering to units. Maintains a regular cleaning schedule of laundry area

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum completion of Grade Twelve (12) required Knowledge and ability to operate and use institutional laundry equipment Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis Must be comfortable working around seniors

General Duties:

Responsible for the processing of all linens and personal laundry items includes collecting, sorting, and folding etc. Responsible to use industrial washers and dryers according to guidelines Maintains laundry stocks and delivers lines to the neighbourhoods Responsible for the routine cleaning of all laundry equipment Replenishes supplies Reports defective equipment or linens to the Facility Support Manager Is familiar with facility Policies and Procedures, Fire and Safety, and Emergency procedures and carries out guidelines of same Attends staff education sessions as required Performs other related duties as required

Salary Range:

In accordance with current collective agreement between Ocean View Continuing Care Centre and C.U.P.E. Local 1245.

Rotation:

Weekends / Days / Evenings / Holidays; May be changed as necessary to meet the operational requirements of the facility.
