Introduction



Canada's job market continues to show a growing demand for skilled trades and hands-on professionals, yet there remains a significant gap between the number of available skilled workers and the needs of employers. Many industries--such as construction, manufacturing, healthcare support, and technology services--are struggling to find qualified individuals ready to step directly into the workforce. Recognizing this gap, Heritage College is expanding its offerings by launching Trade Line Courses, a new department dedicated to short, focused, and employability-driven training. The goal is to provide learners with practical, career-ready skills that meet current labor market demands and help bridge the disconnect between traditional education and real-world employment opportunities. Position Overview The Launch Manager (Part-Time) will oversee the creation and launch of Trade Line Courses, a new department within Heritage College focused on delivering trade and employability training programs designed to prepare learners for hands-on careers in the workforce. This role is ideal for a senior professional from the trade or vocational education sector who can dedicate part-time hours to plan, organize, and implement all stages of the department's development -- from structure and systems to compliance and market readiness. The Launch Manager will work closely with the College Director and department heads to ensure a smooth integration of Trade Line Courses into the existing Heritage College framework. Key Responsibilities

oLead the development and setup of the Trade Line Courses department under HeritageCollege.

oDesignand implement operational systems, policies, and workflows tailored for thetrade courses sector.

oCollaborate with the College Director to identify high-demand trade and employabilityprograms aligned with market needs.

oOversee branding and marketing coordination in partnership with Heritage College'smarketing team.

oEnsure regulatory compliance, documentation, and readiness for program approvalunder Heritage College's license.

oBuild and maintain industry partnerships with employers and training organizations toenhance job placement opportunities.

oPrepare progress reports and regularly update the College Director on launchmilestones, timelines, and outcomes.

Requirements

Education & Background

oBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education Management, or related field(MBA preferred).

oMinimum 5 years of experience in trade courses, vocational training, or private careereducation management.

oProven record in launching or managing education or training programs, ideally withinthe private career or trades sector.

oKnowledge of provincial post-secondary and training regulations and funding systemssuch as Student Aid.

oUnderstanding of market trends in skilled trades and workforce development.

Skills & Competencies

oStrong strategic planning and project management capabilities.

oExpertise in program development and operational setup for trade or career-focusededucation.

oExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate acrossdepartments.

oFinancial literacy -- able to support budgeting, cost tracking, and reporting.

oSelf-directed, organized, and adaptable, with an entrepreneurial approach to newinitiatives.

Compensation & Terms

oSchedule: 20 hours per week, flexible working hours.oDuration: 6-month contract, with High potential for extension or transition to a permanent leadership role post-launch.oCompensation: CAD $3,000-$4,500 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.oBonus: Launch completion bonus upon meeting key milestones (program readiness, regulatory approval,and department operations).

Work Arrangement: Hybrid or remote, with weekly progress updates to the College Director.
