About the Role:

Rock Tubulars is seeking an experienced

Lathe Operator

to join our team in Nisku. This role involves operating both manual and CNC lathes to externally thread new and used OCTG tubing and casing ranging from 2 3/8" to 8 5/8". Experience with Fagor CNC controls and threading connections such as EUE, NUE, LTC, STC, and BTC is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate manual and CNC lathes (Fagor control) to cut external threads on tubing and casing Work with pipe sizes ranging from 2 3/8" to 8 5/8" Set up machines and perform tool changes as needed Measure and verify dimensions using callipers, ring gauges, and thread height gauges Accurately interpret and follow MRP specifications and work orders Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of equipment Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety procedures

Qualifications and Skills:

Proven experience operating manual and CNC lathes Familiarity with Fagor CNC controls Knowledge of OCTG threading standards (EUE, NUE, LTC, STC, BTC) Proficient in the use of callipers, ring gauges, and thread measurement tools Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Strong attention to detail and safety focus Ability to work independently and in a team environment
