Job Description

This opportunity is with a well-run custom metal fabrication operation that takes pride in how things are built and how people are treated. The shop supports a wide range of industrial clients, taking projects from concept through precision production. Operators work with modern equipment in a clean, organized environment where skill, reliability, and teamwork are genuinely valued.
Compensation
$26-$30 per hour, depending on experience.
The Opportunity
This role is about more than running a machine. You are the person who sets the pace for quality and accuracy at the front end of production. When parts come off the laser right, everything downstream runs better. If you like knowing your work matters and enjoy seeing clean parts ready for the next operation, this is a role where your skill makes a real difference.
The schedule runs Monday through Thursday, on the day shift, with four 12-hour shifts each week. You get consistent hours, steady work, and long weekends built right into your schedule.
Position Description
On a typical shift, you will review scheduled work, prep the laser, nest jobs, and cut parts from a variety of sheet metal materials. You will work from drawings and work orders, make sure jobs are set up correctly, and keep parts organized and clearly labelled for the next stage of production.
Quality checks are part of the daily routine. You will inspect parts as they come off the table, flag issues early, and work with supervisors or quality team members to sort out problems. Keeping the equipment and work area clean, safe, and running properly is also part of the job.
Experience

  • Several years of hands-on CNC laser cutting experience
  • Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication
  • Comfortable reading shop drawings and specifications
  • Experience checking parts for accuracy and finish
  • Familiarity with nesting software or job tracking systems is helpful
Qualifications
  • Five or more years of laser setup and operation experience
  • Pride in producing accurate, high-quality work
  • Dependable, organized, and safety-minded
  • Willingness to assist with basic machine upkeep
  • Forklift or material handling experience is an asset
  • High school diploma with technical training or equivalent experience
Education
