S&R Sawmills has a long history of Custom Cutting in the Lower Mainland. We are a family run business that was established in 1963 and currently has a workforce of over 300 employees on a large strip of the Fraser River. Employee safety is the highest priority with experience, knowledge and hard work being the backbone for many years.

Role Description:

Reporting to the Shift Foreman, Large Forklift Operator employees are responsible for anti-staining lumber loads, staging loads and load/unload trucks and containers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Processing lumber loads through the anti-stain machine Staging and pulling out lumber loads for pick-ups Loading and unloading trucks Narrowing loads to fit containers Loading containers Ensure organization throughout the container yard Identify, protect, and report safety hazards to management or a member of the safety Correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Follow all Safe Work Procedures Other duties as assigned by the Shift Foreman

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

Previous experience operating large forklifts required Valid forklift certification an asset Experience with forest products considered an asset Physical demands require be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills Safety first attitude Must have reliable transportation to and from work (Mill is transit accessible) Shifts are Monday to Friday and the candidate must be flexible to work day shifts (6:00am - 2:30pm) and afternoon shifts (3:30pm - 12:00am). Overtime work may be available.
