Position Summary


We are seeking passionate and skilled tutors to provide personalized instruction in reading, writing, spelling, and numeracy for students of varying abilities. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English, has teaching experience, and is familiar with some of the following programs: Orton-Gillingham, Barton Reading and Spelling, UFLI, Empower, Lexia, etc.

Work a minimum of 6 hours/week delivering one-on-one or small group instruction in reading, writing, spelling, and basic numeracy Support students with diverse learning profiles, including those with learning differences or special education needs Implement and facilitate programs based on student needs and learning goals Communicate regularly with families to support progress and adjust learning strategies as needed Travel to students' homes when required for in-person sessions

Qualifications:



Fluency in English (oral and written) Undergraduate degree Strong foundation in elementary literacy and numeracy instruction
Experience or training in at least one of the following is highly preferred:

Barton Reading and Spelling System Orton-Gillingham program Special Education (Spec Ed) background Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification Graduate of an accredited teacher education program

Additional Requirements:



Valid Full G Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to student homes Vulnerable Sector Police Check (or willingness to obtain) Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach Availability during after-school hours and/or weekends is an asset

Pay: $27.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 per week
