Title: Garden Centre/Horticultural Technician/Landscape Technician

WORK ENVIRONMENT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Welcoming customers with an acknowledgement

Assist customers with purchases in retail checkout area

Process sales through a Point of Sale

Complete sales transactions through cash & debit machine

Thank and invite them to re-visit.

Maintain entire garden centre always clean and presentable manner.

Understand basic pests and plant diseases and recommend products.

Assist customers with advice on how to plant and use landscape products.

Treat customers with integrity and respect.

Maintain ongoing merchandise of store products.

Balancing days transactions at end of each shift

Water assigned section.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Interest in with outside, gardening, physical creative work environment.

Be able to plant trees, planting, follow landscaping training, stone work, water features, pruning trees, weeding, moving plants, digging for planting, tree staking, raking, micring earth, applying mulch etc.

Be able to work well with other and take direction.

Be able to work in a fast paced and constantly changing weather conditions (hot and rainy conditions)

Physically fit - able to stand, walk and assist with 30-50lb plant lifting.

Be able to work weekends during busy months

Motivated, self-disciplined individual with strong work ethic

Ability to listen and understand customers needs.

Must like family like friendly working environment.

Position duration: On going

Hours of Service: 40 - 44 hours per week - Days, Afternoon, Evenings & Weekends

Salary: based on skills and experience. We pay higher rates for right candidate
