Role Overview
Winter: Sidewalk Shoveling Crew Team Leader
As a Sidewalk Shoveling Crew Team Leader, you will be on-call 24/7 during the winter season to ensure sidewalks and walkways are clear of snow and ice. Your role involves leading a team in snow removal tasks, operating snowblowers, snowrators, and other equipment, and ensuring all work meets high-quality standards. Your leadership, physical fitness, and ability to work in challenging conditions are essential.
Summer: Grass Crew Team Leader
As a Grass Crew Team Leader, you will lead a team to maintain beautifully landscaped properties throughout the season. Your role involves performing and overseeing landscape maintenance tasks, training team members on equipment use, and ensuring all work meets high-quality standards. Your leadership, attention to detail, and ability to work outdoors in various conditions are essential.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the work of your team to maintain landscaped properties.
Perform landscape tasks with high quality to ensure customer satisfaction.
Train your team to use a variety of landscape tools and equipment.
Maintain and care for company equipment.
Regularly collaborate and communicate with management and staff.
Demonstrate and uphold company values.
Follow directions from your manager to ensure job efficiency and effectiveness.
Use and operate tools and equipment used in horticulture.
Perform general property, lawn, and garden maintenance, including daily litter pick-up.
Operate tools such as power blowers, lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, and other landscape maintenance equipment.
Assist with landscape construction and seasonal planting as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including shop and equipment upkeep.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and company uniform.
Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and health regulations.
Communicate professionally and courteously with customers and team members.
To Excel in This Role you are:
Experienced: 3+ years prior experience in hands-on snow removal and landscaping including successfully managing and motivating a team.
Licensed: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, capable of driving a company vehicle to transport the crew.
Leadership-Oriented: Manage, direct, and work alongside a team, ensuring high performance and adherence to company standards.
Physically Fit: Perform demanding physical work, including shoveling snow and operating equipment.
Flexible and Resilient: Available 24/7 and prepared to work in challenging winter conditions.
