Job Summary

Tea Tree Gardens is hiring an experienced and motivated

Team Lead

to manage one of our mobile crews. You'll be responsible for overseeing garden and lawn maintenance at high-end residential and strata properties on Vancouver's west side. This role involves overseeing maintenance tasks, leading a team of maintenance staff, and ensuring that all landscape and garden areas are well-maintained. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in landscape maintenance and be skilled in the use of various power and hand tools.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Leading a small crew (1-3 team members) on scheduled service routes Perform landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and planting, to maintain aesthetic appeal and plant health. Utilize power tools and hand tools for various maintenance tasks, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Conduct regular inspections of grounds and facilities to identify areas needing repair or improvement. Communicating with clients and office staff professionally and clearly Driving a company vehicle with tools and materials Train and mentor maintenance staff on best practices in landscaping and equipment use. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring all tools are in good working condition. Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs promptly.

Skills

Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques and practices. 2+ years of hands-on landscaping or garden maintenance experience Proficient in the use of power tools such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers. Experience with irrigation systems and their maintenance. Strong plant knowledge and pruning technique Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also demonstrating leadership skills. Ability to manage time, delegate tasks, and maintain pace Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in garden care and facility upkeep. Strong communication skills to interact with team members and other departments effectively.
This position is vital for maintaining the gardens of high-end properties while providing leadership within the maintenance team.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $25.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 - 42 per week
