Employment Requirements;
Minimum two years' experience as a landscape or horticulture supervisor, or as a landscape or horticulture technician is required.
Hands-on experience in the type of work supervised is also required.
Completion of secondary school or more is an asset but is not required. College diploma, specialized courses or industry-related training and certification in landscaping, supervision and horticulture is also an asset.
Duties are as follows, but are not limited to;
Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of workers who construct landscape projects, including athletic fields, golf courses projects, parks and greenspaces, and other landscaped construction or landscape maintenance projects.
Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, or supervise the operation of equipment by crew members.
Supervise and work alongside a crew to complete labour works such as planting trees, laying sod, etc.
Complete daily safety documentation, timesheet input, daily reporting on progress to management.
Attend safety courses and meetings, upgrade training as needed regularly.
Attend site-specific safety meetings and relay information to the crew to ensure compliance.
Communicate with project managers, safety managers, and others to complete projects safely and effectively
Ensure work done by the crew meets specifications of the project
Complete projects including soft and hard landscaping, such as tree and shrub planting, topsoil placement, sodding and seeding, paving stone installation, retaining walls, concrete works, etc.
Other Details include;
Regular shift will be Monday to Saturday (minimum 44 hours), in peak season starting at 7 am. Overtime paid at 1.5 times regular payrate after 8hrs/day, 44 hrs per week.
$36/hr-$37/hr, and Vacation pay will be calculated at 6% for regular time hours.
Pay schedule is bi-weekly.
Private healthcare insurance will be provided to bridge eligibility of provincial healthcare coverage.
