Position Summary


The Grounds team provides an aesthetically pleasing landscaped campus. Reports to the Lead Hand and works in a team to manage the landscaping maintenance of all hard and soft surfaces year-round.


The Campus Operations & Services team supports the University of Alberta through a range of essential services and works for operating, maintaining and renewing infrastructure across our campuses.Perform manual labour tasks using common hand tools Remove debris from turf areas around buildings Prepare and plant flower beds Maintain building entrances free from snow, ice and debris to ensure safety of stakeholders Sweeping and removal of sand and rock chip debris from building entrances, landings, stairs and ramps Maintain inventory and request materials and supplies Performs all general landscape maintenance duties on all hard and soft landscapes on campus High School Diploma Minimum 1yr experience in a related position Horticulture Diploma or Journeyman Landscape Gardener License is considered an asset Valid Driver's License One year of experience is necessary to acquire the necessary skills and expertise Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) policies and procedures Landscape Management Plan Management Plan for Ice and Snow Control
