ROLE SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor the Landscape Labourer works as a member of the landscape team taking daily direction from the Lead Hand. The Labourer is a hardworking, dependable, physically fit labourer who is aware of commonly used practices in the landscape industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety:

Follow established safety procedures and use personal protective equipment as required. Always complete tasks in a safe manner. Promptly report hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents to supervisors. Participate in health and safety training and meetings. Work together with co-workers, supervisors and trade partners to maintain a safe workplace and promote a positive safety culture on site.

General Construction:

Ensures compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects and the Ontario Building Code. Ensures compliance with the organization's policies and procedures including health & safety. Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment. Serves as a working crew member to complete landscape projects such as hardscape, softscape, fence, decks, lawn maintenance, and winter maintenance. Able to attend on-call shifts in the winter months (on-call shifts may incl. weekend and statutory holidays). Completes the necessary paperwork including timesheets, equipment/vehicle inspection reports Responsible for the care and maintenance of all company owned/rented equipment including tools and machinery. Performs other duties as assigned including snow removal during the winter months.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent Previous work experience in landscape is an asset Physically fit with the ability to carry, lift up to 100 lbs. Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation WHMIS, Working at Heights and tool/equipment training with valid record of training.
