The Lawn Salon is now in search of highly motivated and energetic candidates for a permanent full-time (year-round or seasonal) position as Landscape Foreman/Supervisor to help grow a well-established business (operating since 1994). - Starting wage $35.00-$60.00/hr - Position to start late March/ early April 2023 - Benefits available - Bonuses available - Average of 50 hours per week from early April to mid-November. Shorter days/ more holidays during winter months. - Workdays most often start at 6:45am and can sometimes run 12-13hrs, although the average 2-week work period is about 100hrs, as there are often shorter days or days off due to weather, etc. - Overtime paid after 100hrs per 2-week period - Little to no weekend availability required - 2-week holiday at Christmas, 1-week holiday at spring break (based on school holiday schedule) - Additional holiday time available - No landscaping experience required, but the successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience supervising a crew, and will also have exceptional attention to detail and will have a strong mechanical inclination (landscaping/carpentry/automotive/or equivalent). - The successful candidate must have a valid class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence and will have or immediately achieve a class 3 driver\'s license. - The successful candidate will have a reliable vehicle (not shared) to get to and from work. - The successful candidate will speak/read/write English fluently The job position includes but is not limited to the following: - Installation of decks, fences, patios, retaining walls, sod, sheds, etc - All types of landscaping - Removal of swimming pools, concrete, decks, fences, sheds, trees, earth, etc - Manual labour - Lifting (100lbs+) - Shovelling - Wheelbarrowing - Raking - Operation of power tools - Operation of hand tools - Operation of trucks and trailers - Operation of skid steers, excavators, and other power equipment - Customer interaction - Crew supervision - Maintaining jobsite productivity - Maintaining jobsite cleanliness - Maintaining an extremely high quality product - Consistent respect for customer/neighbour/public property This will be a mentally and physically challenging position in a fast-paced outdoor environment. We do all sorts of custom projects so there are always new things to learn. The position will require the ability to plan ahead but also the ability to adapt and make changes on short notice as situations fluctuate. There are always new challenges and new complications to solve. The right person will be able to work in different weather conditions (rain, heat, wind, cold, etc) while maintaining a positive attitude and providing a high quality end product, and be able to motivate crew members to do the same.
