Vancouver GardenBox is a small landscape maintenance company, aiming to become one of the premier landscape maintenance providers in the Metro-Vancouver area, with an over-arching goal to increase the level of customer service and professionalism in the industry.

For this role, we are looking for an individual that has 3+ years minimum of experience in landscaping/gardening. You will be responsible for supervising (and training when needed) a crew of 3 or more team members.

Experience:

You have a strong working knowledge of year-round care for both lawns and gardens. You have a horticultural background and strong plant identification skills. You have experience managing crews. You have experience using a range of landscape power tools as well as manual pruning equipment. You have strong organizational and time management skills from maintaining large Strata properties You have strong interpersonal skills and experience handling clients questions and concerns. A valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and experience towing a trailer.

Responsibilities

Manage workload at each property and delegating tasks to your crew. Maintain detailed notes on work completed at each property as well as laying out a plan for a subsequent visit. Use of Company software including Jobber and Slack. Maintain a record of all tools on your truck. Report damaged or missing tools and the end of each day to Equipment Manager. Ensure the cleanliness and organization while the crew is on the work site. Lawn Maintenance: Mowing and edging, fertilizing, overseeding , core aeration and power raking. Reporting serious issues with client's lawns. Garden Maintenance: Weeding garden beds, trimming hedges, pruning shrubs, small trees and other perennial plants. Reporting plant mortalities or other issues with client's gardens. Operating gas powered landscaping equipment such as: Stihl hedge and line trimmers, Honda mowers, Stihl backpack blowers and at times, chain saws. Proficiently use hand held gardening/landscaping equipment such as rakes, shovels, cultivators, loppers, hand pruners, shears and hand saws.

Assets:

Formal education in horticulture or plant identification. Experience in entrepreneurship.

Pay: $29.00-$35.00 per hour
