Job Description

Manor Landscaping is looking to hire Landscape Construction Installers and Labourers for our Construction Division. Manor Landscaping is an established landscape company located in Guelph, Ontario. As a crucial member of our Landscape Team, you will be responsible for executing various tasks to complete projects. This role requires a combination of stone installation along with managerial abilities. Primarily working in the Guelph and surrounding area, our team boasts 30 years of experience and reputable client relationships. Examples of our previous landscape work can be viewed on our website. We pride ourselves in quality workmanship and are looking for a enthusiastic individuals to join our growing team.

This position is Full Time based upon an 8-month Seasonal Contract.

SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and abilities:

- Oversee and manage a team of landscape workers in daily operations

- Plan and execute landscape construction tasks, including installing stone walkways, patios, retaining walls, planting trees & plants, and sod

- Lead the installation of new landscaping projects

- Build and repair structures such as walkways, patios, retaining walls

- Supervise the use of equipment and tools to ensure safety and efficiency

- Train and mentor team members to improve their skills and performance

- Communicate with clients on site to understand their needs and provide excellent customer service

- Coordinate with other installers for lighting and irrigation installations

EXPERIENCE:

Preferably, we are also seeking a candidate with:

- Experience with machine operation, construction tools and equipment

- Proven experience in landscape construction installation

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team

- Knowledge of plants, trees, and flowers

- Ability to read landscape plans and blueprints

- Ability to work outside in various & difficult weather conditions

- Excellent problem-solving skills to address issues that may arise on the job

- Physical stamina to perform manual labour in various weather conditions

- Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members

- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
