The Bruce County Transportation and Environmental Services Department has approximately 650 km of road and approximately 148 bridges under its jurisdiction. The department administers a road system composed of \'collector and arterial\' roads, which distinguishes the County system from the local municipal road system. This system provides a consistent level of service between local urban, industrial, commercial and recreational centres. The Transportation and Environmental Services Department also coordinates Waste Management for the County.

About the Job

Reporting to the Foreperson, the Labour Truck Driver is responsible for labour duties, operating various equipment including, but not limited to, a tandem axle dump truck and operating snow plows/sanders in the winter months. Shift work will be required. The successful candidate for this position must be reliable and able to work independently. Must be able to report to the shop within thirty (30) minutes of call-ins.

Requirements

\xc2\xb7 Minimum Grade 12 education
\xc2\xb7 Computer experience
\xc2\xb7 Minimum DZ license required (AZ license an asset)
\xc2\xb7 Must have a clean, safe driving record (recent driver\'s abstract will be required)
\xc2\xb7 Experience driving in adverse winter conditions
\xc2\xb7 Experience driving a plow/sander unit
\xc2\xb7 Experience operating a loader
\xc2\xb7 Physically able to perform manual labour tasks including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
\xc2\xb7 Must be able to report to the assigned shop within approximately thirty (30) minutes of the call-ins
