MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES




Manually load and unload construction materials, move materials to different work areas, cleaning and preparing a job site, such as sorting, stacking, and inventory of scaffold components and materials Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities Remove rubble and other debris/snow from construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment Snow removal and sand distribution in the work area during winter months

REQUIRED SKILLS




There are no minimum educational requirements to be a Skilled Labourer but a minimum of 10 years experience is required Experience on or around mobile equipment Skid steer and forklift certificates are considered an asset H2S Alive Fall Protection Confined Space (Entry & Monitor) WHMIS 2015 One of the following Valid Safety Tickets: CSO, OSSA BSO, or CSTS-09 Site specific training may be given to the Skilled Laborer to qualify them for certain tasks Ability to complete physically demanding work in cold or hot weather High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others Must be willing and able to work unsupervised as well as part of a team Must be very safety oriented and follow all safety procedures closely while on the job Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Demonstrate practical problem-solving ability Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

WORKING CONDITIONS




Rotations: 7&7 (Shift Cycle may be subject to change) Day shift Travel is required Charter flights from Edmonton or Calgary to site Camp accommodations during scheduled shift Ability to lift and carry objects independently or as a team Ability to meet and maintain site access requirements Very physical in nature Must be able to walk for extended distances Bend and lift 44lbs efficiently * Working outdoors
