PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Labourer will oversee all general cleaning and repair tasks throughout the mechanical car shop and outside to ensuring a tidy and safe working environment.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Cleaning of office and facility spaces Sweeping, mopping the floors and emptying garbage in offices Inspecting; light vehicle, tool, equipment maintenance and repair Calibrating tools and equipment/machinery Operating forklift, snowblower, loader and Kubota Washing and cleaning maintenance bay, shop floor, equipment and vehicles Removing snow and debris outside the shop Offloading fuel tank cars

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a high school diploma or general equivalency Valid driver's license Minimum 1 year experience working on or around heavy equipment Mechanical aptitude an asset Available to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays in all weather conditions Ability to pass the required written examinations, read and understand safety instructions, rules, regulations and other written or printed material in English Proven dedication to safety and ability to complete work within guidelines/rules

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Medical and Drug Testing

This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.
