Position Summary The Production Labourer is responsible for branding, framing, inspecting and preparing product for treatment.
Principal Responsibilities
General labour - processing/manufacturing wood products
Operate chainsaw, hand tools, tag, clean and prepare products
Operate mill equipment
Banding/packaging
Maintain tools, equipment, supplies and work areas.
Working outside in all weather conditions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Core Competencies
Manufacturing or construction experience preferred
Experience utilizing hand tools-drills, peaveys, chainsaws, wizards, hammers, tape measures etc.
Valid driver's license is required.
Always demonstrate a strong focus on safety.
Support a respectful environment and works well in a team setting.
Must possess basic math skills.
Ability to lift 50-75lbs continually.
Knowledge of wood products and defects.
Able to learn and acquire new skills.
Additional forestry skills such as log scaling, loader operator, log peeling and other machine operations will be valuable assets in progressing to other positions in the yard.
In house training is provided.
