Job Description

Progressive Cabinets & Millwork, a member of the Cherubini Group of Companies, is looking for a Shop Labourer to join our team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Summary

Reporting directly to the Plant Foreman, the successful candidates will be responsible for assembling, labeling, and installing special items on Progressive Cabinets & Millwork Ltd. drawers, cabinets and any other projects as directed. The successful candidate may also be cross trained in alternate departments or on machinery such as CNC machines and edge banders.

Job Duties

Operate woodworking machinery, including CNC machines and edge banders Assemble all drawers, base cabinets, vanity cabinets, upper cabinets, and finished cabinets Maintain a clean work area and machines to ensure quality, safety, and minimize breakages Load and unload materials safely and efficiently Monitor production to ensure parts meet quality standards Inspect tools and equipment daily prior to use and report any issues immediately Assist with other production duties and cross-train in various departments as needed

Requirements

No formal training needed - just a commitment to safety standards and quality control measures! Previous experience as an Operator, Labourer, or in a similar role is preferred but not required Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, but not required The drive to learn and a willingness to be cross-trained on other aspects of the manufacturing process

Work Conditions

Physical ability to lift up to 50lb Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc. Hazards associated with the trade

Pay: Up to $19.00 per hour
