LABOUR RELATIONS REPRESENTATIVE Reports to: Labour Relations Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Human Resources Department: Human Resources About the role Interpret, administer and direct with respect to the provisions of the Collective Agreements, Company policy and labour legislation. Work to proactively develop healthy and productive relationships with the Union leadership and employees. Your day-to-day: \xc2\xb7 Interpret, administer, and advise all levels of management/supervision with respect to the provisions of the Collective Agreements, Company policies and procedures, work performance, and relevant employment legislation ensuring the consistent application of all areas. \xc2\xb7 Conduct workplace investigations. \xc2\xb7 Recommend and implement corrective actions as required. \xc2\xb7 Meet with management/supervision, employees and Union officials providing advice and guidance on labour relations and other matters. \xc2\xb7 Manage the grievance and arbitration procedures including the drafting of formal responses to grievances and settlement agreements, ensuring consistency in resolving issues. \xc2\xb7 Lead the preparation of grievances for arbitration, as required. \xc2\xb7 Actively participate in collective bargaining negotiations including the drafting of proposals and contract language. \xc2\xb7 Maintain a constructive relationship between management and union representatives. What you bring to the table Job Qualifications: \xc2\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Human Resources, Commerce of Business Administration or related discipline. \xc2\xb7 Postgraduate in Industrial Relations is an asset. \xc2\xb7 3+ years of human resources and/ or labour or employee relations experience. \xc2\xb7 Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial and/ or unionized environments is a strong asset. \xc2\xb7 Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or working towards is an asset. Job Skills and Knowledge: \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of labour/ management principles, statutes and collective agreement administration \xc2\xb7 Familiarity with provincial labour legislation and regulations \xc2\xb7 Experience using Microsoft Office and HRIS experience is required. \xc2\xb7 Experience using D365 is an asset. \xc2\xb7 Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to multitask competing priorities. \xc2\xb7 Excellent written and oral communication skills. \xc2\xb7 Good problem solving and leadership skills, with the ability to think and act strategically. \xc2\xb7 Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to earn trust. Your work environment: \xc2\xb7 A fast-paced office environment for a high impact team. \xc2\xb7 The job is within a heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work enter various areas of the facility. \xc2\xb7 Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures and guidelines must always be adhered to. This includes wearing all provided PPE such as hard hat, eye and ear protection, respirator, gloves, and safety shoes \xc2\xb7 On-site mill meetings are required at times. \xc2\xb7 Travel to and from both facilities are required at times. \xc2\xb7 On-call at times. \xc2\xb7 Lake Erie Works operates 24 hours 365 days a year.
