The Union is seeking an experienced Labour Relations Officer for an immediate start with minimum orientation. Requirements of the position involve constant membership contact and support including collective agreement interpretation and alternative dispute resolution. There is a strong requirement to be consultative and integrative with the current office team towards seamless file management, team learning and process sharing. Excellent management of paper and electronic file maintenance is essential to ensure good records management and legislated requirements are constantly met. Labour Relations Officers provide research and process support to bargaining, arbitration preparation and special projects. Consistent with the expanding representation responsibilities for unions, medical accommodation and harassment investigation files formulate a significant portion of work for this position.
Candidate Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree in Labour Relations (or related degree) and 5 years of relevant experience is required
The Candidate must demonstrate highly developed problem-solving, positive interpersonal and professional communication skills
The Candidate has the ability to prioritize multiple activities as well as work independently and as a member of a highly effective team
A valid driver's license and vehicle is required (a car allowance is provided)

Remuneration:
The current salary range for a Labour Relations Officer (Job Level) is Step A through F:
This is a unionized position covered by the Collective Agreement between CSU 52 and the United Steelworkers, Local 1-207, currently under negotiations.
Hours of Work:
7.5 hours per day (compressed hours of work program in effect). Hours of operation are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
