Advancing management during labour relations contract negotiations, including drafting proposals and facilitating meetings with union representatives.
Assisting the Director in developing Labour Relations Strategies that align with business objectives.
Assisting the Director in developing Collective Bargaining Mandates, including making recommendations to the Executive;
Functioning as Chief Spokesperson at Negotiations and Leads the Company Bargaining Team;
Participating in collective bargaining procedures, including drafting, reviewing and modifying proposals, verifying legal contract terminology and suggesting additional rules and regulations as necessary;
Communicating effectively with managers, executives and union representatives daily to create a positive working environment, address worker grievances, and verify compliance with contractual protocols;
Analyzing current work contracts and human resources policies to determine the overall state of employee relations and make innovative changes to improve morale, efficiency and overall performance;
Helping manage labour grievances as needed by investigating circumstances of the incident, the validity of claims, adherence to contract policies and completion of resolution procedures;
Coordinating, creating and sustaining positive employee relations and facilitating effective communications between employees and management;
Developing and presenting informational briefings for management to improve understanding of labour relations and promote improved contract and management solutions;
Assisting management during crises to facilitate effective negotiations and resolve issues quickly;
Providing various reports and statistical data; and
Maintaining confidentiality in all matters.
Continuing Education:
Participating and maintaining up-to-date, all safety and training offered through the company;
Assuming personal responsibility and is accountable for maintaining current skills by attending all training required by the site, viewing assigned videos, reading articles and participating in seminars as required; and
Sharing learned knowledge and skills with peers.

Identifying and reporting any real or potential safety hazards; wearing all safety equipment related to your position as well as participating in all safety training offered through the facility;

What we are looking for:
Bachelor\'s degree, preferably in labour relations or related field; and
Professional training in labour law or collective bargaining is preferred.
7+-year progressive experience in labour relations, including collective bargaining, conducting investigations conflict resolution;
Experience working in a multi-union environment;
Experience in preparing and presenting LR positions and arguments during union and management meetings, at arbitration and the bargaining table; and
Experience in the energy field is an asset.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, conflict-resolution, leadership and facilitation skills;
Ability to write clearly and effectively present ideas and to document activities; to read and interpret written information;
Strong attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage several projects at once, prioritize and meet deadlines;
Excellent negotiating skills;
Ability to analyze complex information and ask probing questions to make recommendations/decisions that consider a longer-term view;

Able to work extended hours and off normal work shifts to support project needs.
Security clearance eligibility required:
Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom.
