Reporting directly to the on-site senior technologist and the Regional Rural Supervisor, the MLT will be responsible for providing exemplary patient care by applying the regional policies and procedures. The scope of practice is a continuum ranging from basic to highly complex procedures and activities within the laboratory department. Employees shall maintain confidentiality of all APL/AHS information in accordance with HIA, FOIP and other privacy legislation in effect and shall comply at all times with APL/AHS's information privacy and information security policies.

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience working in core laboratory including hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis and specimen procurement and handling. Recent Training within the past 2 years will be considered. Experience in phlebotomy. Experience using Microsoft programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year experience within an APL Transfusion Medicine Testing site is an asset. Minimum 1 year experience as a MLT within Rural Zone laboratory is an asset.
