We dairy you!Agropur, a leading manufacturer of ice cream and novelties is accepting applications for an experienced Lab Technician for its production facility located at 85 Blakeney Drive, Truro, Nova Scotia.What's involved in this role:Gather samples from production floor for product testing;Test samples for compliance;Prepare media for plating samples;Plate samples for incubation and reading them when appropriate;Compete all documentation required for testing product sampling and the verification of results;Ensure good manufacturing practices and procedures are followed as outlined in our written HACCP plan.Conduct product monitoring checks and complete product evaluationsConduct pre-operational activities (visual inspection, food contact surface swabbing)Hours: Thursdays through Sundays, 7 AM to 5 PMWhat you need to join our team:Post-secondary education in biology, chemistry, or related science.Ability to consistently follow precise procedures, possess excellent hand eye co-ordination, be a self-starter;Ability to effectively communicate and work well with others;A strong commitment to occupational health and safety standards and procedures;Previous lab or food science experience is an assetAgropur welcomes people from all backgrounds and walks of life.
