With a broad range of staff experience and state-of-the-art instrumentation, we provide cross-analytical solutions for the Environmental, Energy, Mining, Transportation, Industrial, Agri-food and Life Sciences sectors.Summary:AGAT Laboratories is currently looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our Tribology Lab. This position is an entry level position where one can gain career experience in a laboratory with direction from the Laboratory Supervisor and other Laboratory team members. The successful candidate will assist with administrative and basic laboratory activities. The successful candidate will work out of the Calgary location.Duties:

• Compile, verify and validate accurate data records
• Perform PVT laboratory procedures
• Perform Gas and Liquid Chromatography
• Experience in Gas and Liquid Chromatography is a strong asset
• Regularly maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot essential laboratory equipment
• Perform basic analysis.
• Report results.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education with a Chemical degree/diploma or equivalent experience
• Previous work lab experience is an asset, training will be provided
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Attention to detail with good organizational skills
• Basic computer skills
• Team player with the ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment

Work Environment: This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks.
