LABORATORY TECHNICIAN


Seasonal Contract May 1 to December 29, 2023


As a LABORATORY TECHNICIAN , your main responsibilities are:


Preparation of water and soil samples for laboratory analysis. Including but not limited to: sample extraction, standard and reagent preparation, instrument maintenance, calibration, analysis, reporting and troubleshooting.


Key Accountability/Responsibilities:

• Review LIMS summary reports to plan and organize your daily work, as well as follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP\xe2\x80\x99s) efficiently.
• Perform sample preparation and procedures prior to analyses.
• Prepare samples, sub-samples and reagents. Ensure samples, extracts and standard solutions are properly labelled and stored in the appropriate location.
• Perform basic testing procedures, identify any non-routine samples and seek guidance on procedures for handling.
• Meet quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed within holding time requirements.
• Ensure laboratory protocols are followed and turn-around-times are met.
• Standard laboratory environment
• Availability for shift work, OT and weekend work required
• Other duties as required

You are the ideal LABORATORY TECHNICIAN if:

• You have a technical diploma, B.Sc. preferred
