Job Summary


MSALABS is a global provider of geochemical laboratory services for the exploration and mining industries. We deliver a complete range of analytical services from greenfields exploration through to mine closure, including laboratory management, onsite services, and sample preparation.

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our lab. This role involves making key decisions that keep everything running smoothly.

Responsibilities



Monitor jobs in progress and investigate overdue tasks Ensure equipment performance and coordinate repairs Maintain adequate inventory of consumables and place orders as needed Carry out analytical testing following SOPs or recognized standards Implement quality control procedures and maintain documentation Raise non-conformance investigations and respond promptly to QAQC Ensure all activities comply with HSE regulations Train and guide laboratory personnel on policies and procedures Provide technical support to supervisors, analysts, and operators Monitor staffing levels and recommend adjustments Foster a positive work environment and maintain team morale Ensure customer requests are handled diligently Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements Contribute to new technology development and method validation Liaise with internal and external clients; attend industry events Take remedial actions when deviations occur Perform additional duties as required by management

Requirements



Bachelor of Science, with a major in Chemistry or another discipline with suitable experience or laboratory experience (minimum 5 years) Proven experience managing laboratory workflows and turnaround times Experience implementing and maintaining quality assurance systems under ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation Background in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation In-depth understanding of geochemical assay laboratory principles and functions Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation, procedures, and quality control issues Familiarity with developing, validating, and improving analytical methods and SOPs Strong leadership skills, including planning, organizing, delegating, and leading by example Ability to train, supervise, and mentor laboratory personnel effectively Skilled in monitoring staff workload and adjusting resources as needed Commitment to enforcing laboratory policies, quality procedures, and Health & Safety guideline Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and work under pressure Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills Detail-oriented with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $135,000.00-$146,000.00 per year
