Your Opportunity:




Alberta Precision Laboratories is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to join our dynamic team supporting both the Northeast Community Health Centre and East Edmonton Health Centre. This role offers the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, patient-focused environments. The Northeast Community Health Centre services a busy 24/7 Emergency, Ambulatory Clinics & Diagnostic Imaging department. The East Edmonton Health Centre services daytime Ambulatory Clinics & Imaging; and evening Urgent Care department. Key Responsibilities include: collect and process blood specimens (adults and children) using macro and micro phlebotomy techniques; perform ECGs and urinalysis; conduct data entry, requisition scanning, and sample processing for transport/testing; troubleshoot specimen issues and perform routine equipment maintenance; support outpatient, emergency room, and waiting room collections.

Description:



As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited urinalysis course including theory and practical. Phlebotomy and urinalysis experience within the last 2 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent experience using EPIC Beaker and Rover is strongly recommended. Experience within the last 2 years with data entry, specimen processing and handling is preferred. Experience using SPECTRE would be beneficial.
