Role Overview:
The ICP analyst is responsible for performing various chemical analyses on raw materials, finished products, in-process samples, and products under development, in accordance with established methods.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform ICP-MS and ICP-AES analyses on organic and inorganic samples.
Interpret analytical results and prepare reports and/or certificates.
Develop and validate analytical methods.
Carry out calibration, cleaning, and troubleshooting of ICP-AES, ICP-MS, and IC instruments.
Establish and monitor a regular performance testing program for ICP-AES, ICP-MS, and IC instruments.
Prepare standard solutions and controls required for analyses, maintenance, and optimization of ICP instruments.
Perform various laboratory proficiency tests using ICP-AES, ICP-MS, and IC.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
Contribute to investigations of non-conformities and customer complaints.
Provide analytical technical support to team members and other departments within the company.
Participate in internal and external audits of the company's quality system and evaluate compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and ISO 17034 standards.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards related to production.
Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of laboratory instruments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Follow health and safety regulations while assessing potential risks associated with chemical products.
Qualifications & Skills:
Degree in Chemistry required (Bachelor's in Chemistry or equivalent).
Membership in the Ordre des Chimistes du Quebec (OCQ) strongly preferred.
3 to 5 years of experience in chemical analysis using ICP-AES, ICP-MS, and IC.
Proficient in ICP-MS techniques.
Analysis of trace metals in various matrices.

Apercu du Poste :
L'analyste ICP est charge d'effectuer diverses analyses chimiques sur les matieres premieres, les produits finis, les produits en cours de production et les produits en developpement selon des methodes etablies.
Principales Responsabilites :
Realisation d'analyses ICP-MS, ICP-AES sur des echantillons organiques et inorganiques.
Interpreter les resultats des analyses et rediger des rapports et/ou des certificats.
Developper et valider des methodes analytiques.
Effectuer l'etalonnage, le nettoyage et le depannage d'ICP-AES, ICP-MS et IC.
Etablir et suivre un programme de tests de performance reguliers des instruments : ICP-AES, ICP-MS et IC.
Preparer les solutions etalons et les controles necessaires aux analyses et a la maintenance et a l'optimisation des instruments ICP.
Effectuer divers tests de competences de laboratoires par ICP-AES, ICP-MS et IC.
Assurance Qualite et Amelioration Continue :
Contribuer aux enquetes sur les non-conformites et les reclamations.
Offrir un soutien technique analytique aux autres membres de l'equipe ainsi qu'aux autres departements de l'entreprise.
Participer aux audits internes/externes du systeme de la qualite de l'entreprise ,et d'evaluer la conformite avec les normes ISO 9001/ ISO17025/ISO17034.
Conformite Reglementaire et Securite
Garantir le respect des politiques de l'entreprise, des procedures et des normes reglementaires liees a la production.
Effectuer des controles reguliers et assurer la maintenance de base des instruments de laboratoire afin de garantir leur precision et leur efficacite.
Respecter les reglementations en matiere de sante et de securite tout en evaluant les risques associes aux produits chimiques.
Qualifications et Competences :
Diplome en chimie obligatoire (Baccalaureat en Chimie ou equivalent).
Adhesion a l'Ordre des Chimistes du Quebec (OCQ) fortement souhaitee.
3 a 5 ans d'experience en analyse chimique par ICP-AES, ICP-MS et IC.
Maitrise des techniques ICP-MS.
Analyse des metaux traces dans des matrices variees.
