Laboratory Analyst - Inorganics Main Lab, Metals Section

(Full-time)

As a Laboratory Analyst, your main responsibilities are to:

• Analysis of water/soils/food/air impingers/filters for metals using ICP-MS, ICP-OES and/or CVAA.
• Under the guidance of Senior Analysts/Supervisor:

- Develop and implement new methodology and SOP.

- Maintain and update current SOP.

• Analyses of water, food, air impingers, filters and soil extracts according to SOP.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment/methodology and/or processes.
• Follow all relevant SOPs and WIS.
• Use SAIL and summary reports to plan and organize work.
• Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
• Keep their work area clean, neat and organized.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.

You are the ideal Laboratory Analyst, if you have a:

• Chemical diploma or B.Sc. in Chemistry.
• One to two years of ICP or Atomic Absorption experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good record keeping skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to accurately follow Standard operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions.
• Dynamic, energetic and motivated with a positive outlook, and a "can-do" attitude.

Afternoon shift, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
