Label Partnerships Manager
The UMC team works four days a week from our award-winning creative campus located in Liberty Village, Toronto, and one day to work virtually.
Reporting to the Director, Label Partnerships, the Label Partnerships Manager will join the Label Partnerships team and support the companys distribution business. The ideal candidate possesses experience with a distributed label or preferably from a music company.
How Youll Lead:
Oversee all aspects of distribution for specific independent label partners + artists (domestically & globally)
Build strong relationships and effectively disseminate information between internal + external teams
Act as local project lead alongside international marketing teams to develop + execute unique and innovative plans specific to our market for international artists, in a variety of genres
Pitch domestic label artists to global commercial teams for international placement and development, consult on international plans
Analyze data to inform plans for new and catalogue projects and spot opportunities + trends
Help identify additional opportunities for distributed artist projects - marketing, radio, performances, brand partnerships, sync, etc.
Keep informed on current and emerging industry trends, bringing new ideas to the team
Exhibit creativity and willingness to think outside the box
Attend various industry events and shows, often in the evening

What You Bring:
3-5 years of experience in the music entertainment industry
Experience creating local marketing plans + budgets for international artists and working directly with artists + management teams to execute.
Passion for music, and supporting the development of the independent music community
Post-secondary degree or diploma in music, media and/or entertainment
Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and follow multiple projects to completion, working quickly and efficiently.
Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, responding to issues promptly and with excellent client service skills
Exceptional communication, organizational, planning and priority setting skills
Proficient in industry data & tracking programs and platforms
Strong ability to work within assigned budgets & timelines
Self-starter in creating and maintaining strong relationships
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
