The School


The role is within our School of Applied Sciences and Technology. The departments within the School are located on our Grande Prairie campus and our Fairview campus. The School offers a variety of programming in Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Sciences, and Animal Health Technology. Through this programming, we offer a variety of certificates, diplomas, university transfer courses, as well as a degree in computing science.


The Role


The Department of Science is seeking a part-time Physics Lab Technologist. This position is a recurring term-certain position that will commence August 15, 2025 - April 30, 2026.




As the lab technologist, you will perform the following duties:


Set up and calibrate/test equipment and prepare demonstrations as required for labs. Trial test new laboratory procedures as required. Organize, clean, and maintain lab. This will include the purchase of any materials required for the lab in coordination with the instructor. Demonstrate equipment, safety procedures, and aid instructors and students during regularly scheduled labs. Coordinate and communicate with other lab technicians in the Science Department. Attend and participate in Department meetings and committees as required. Participate in Department and NWP held events that promote our programs.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have a B.Sc, minor in a field of physics. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:


proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; strong organizational and multi-tasking skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and a high level of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
