What you\'ll do:

As part of our team, you will be a key contact person for clients, physicians, staff, suppliers and guests, this team member is the voice and face of the company in many instances.

You will be responsible for all areas related to Laboratory Services:

  • Performs tests on patients including but not limited to tonometry, audiograms, visual acuity, phlebotomy, urine collection, resting ECG\'s and spirometry-based pulmonary tests, facilitates Holter Monitoring and 24hr Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (Vancouver Clinic)
  • Processing and accessioning; shipping and analysis of samples
  • Conducts height & weight measurements
  • Maintains all equipment and liaises with medical equipment suppliers as required, and notifies manager when equipment needs to be serviced or replaced
  • Documents results in the chart and enters results manually as required
  • Maintains supply of sterile instruments for use in procedures by monitoring use and cleaning, packing and autoclaving as needed
  • Researches and source supplies required by the clinic staff; manages inventory and orders medical supplies for the lab, procedure room, nursing department
  • Access and manage the QA of lab processes
  • Interacts with testing laboratories as required
  • Collaborates with clinic staff - both clinicians and administrative
  • Ensures in the booking of appointments that proper balance is maintained between client preferences and efficiency of the operation
  • Applies the TELUS Health Care Centre\'s systems and processes for patient follow-up and relationship building
  • Assists in the booking of appointments, and other administrative duties, and provides support to other staff as assigned
Qualifications

What you bring:
  • 1-3 years of practical work experience in phlebotomy and experience in performing ECG\'s and collection of other diagnostic tests is an asset
  • Basic knowledge of desktop computer systems and Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional organizational and client-first customer service skills
  • Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification
  • CPR Certification preferred
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate preferred
