This position plays a crucial role in our foundry process, ensuring strict adherence to quality standards and contributing directly to the production of high-quality castings. Role and responsibilities



As a Lab Technician, your responsibilities will include performing comprehensive tests on material properties, conducting thorough metallurgical analyses, and executing quality control checks on complete castings. Your expertise in these areas will be vital in maintaining the high standards we uphold for our products.

Responsibilities include:



Sample collection and processing of test bars, wedges, coupons, and Spectro's Process Coupons through breaking, notching grinding, polishing, labelling Perform microscopic evaluations on samples collected Perform Hardness testing, Nodularity and Pearlite Ratings Chemical Analysis using a Spectrometer Sieve Analysis, sand tensile strength testing, loss of ignition analysis Conduct weekly equipment Calibration Documenting and reporting all findings to the Quality Manager

Provide support and expertise to production staff Issue work orders and NCR's as required, track and log issues

Qualifications:


High school or Secondary level of education

Chemistry knowledge including understanding of the Periodic Table of Elements

Excellent Communication and Time Management skills

Understanding and perform root cause analysis, Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to adapt to changing conditions and prioritize tasks Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and demonstrates general Computer skills
