Introduction

This position reports to the Formulation Supervisor. The Lab Technician (Isolates) is responsible for the production of cannabis isolates at Motif Labs. This role will perform day-to-day duties in compliance with SOPs and Health Canada Regulations.

Position Overview:

\xc2\xb7Operation, calibration and preventive maintenance of the isolation equipment

\xc2\xb7Handling of large volumes of cannabis extracts and solvents.

\xc2\xb7Follow SOPs pertaining to all analytical testing and formulation equipment; assist with developing and updating SOPs as required

\xc2\xb7Manage inventory of processing material and necessary lab supplies

\xc2\xb7Perform sanitation activities as per GPP requirements

\xc2\xb7Recording and analysis of laboratory data

\xc2\xb7Perform isolation tasks as assigned by manager in accordance to relevant SOPs; formulations include precise mixing of cannabinoids and solvents.

\xc2\xb7Ensure 100% compliance with QA requirements during day-to-day activities

\xc2\xb7Identify improvement opportunities and report issues in order to maximize efficiency, quality and yield while ensuring safety and reliability

\xc2\xb7Detailed record keeping of batch data per Health Canada regulations

\xc2\xb7Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum BSc. with 1+ years laboratory, production/manufacturing, or pharmaceutical experience
• Experience within Cannabis industry is preferred
• Previous isolation experience within the cannabis industry preferred
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety while operating process equipment
• Positive attitude with strong communication skills
• Strong time management skills including ability to multitask and prioritize
• Shows initiative and ownership of work and willingness to learn
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Physically fit; standing and/or sitting will be required for long periods of time and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Required to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to work various shift schedules as required
• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent residency, work permit holder

SCHEDULE

\xe2\x97\x8f \xe2\x80\x9cHalf Continental\xe2\x80\x9d rotating shift schedule (DAY shift): 4 days one week, 3 days the following week

\xe2\x97\x8f Sunday through to Saturday (7-day operation). Hours are 7:30am \xe2\x80\x93 8:00pm (12.5 hours)

\xe2\x97\x8f Breaks are: three 30 min breaks to be broken up based on team needs and discussed with Supervisor/Manager

WORKING CONDITIONS (ONSITE):

This is a role where you will need to be on site at our production facility in Aylmer, Ontario. Motif provides all required PPE and maintains safety protocols: a well-fitted mask must be worn at all times while inside our production areas.
