ARCHER CRM is now hiring a Laboratory Technician out of our Delta office location. We are looking for



applicants who are professionally driven and eager to continue to develop and expand their skillset.

Primary Responsibility:

To organize, document, and catalogue artifacts and samples collected during excavations,


large-scale testing and/or field operations.


Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
?

Follow and meet, or exceed, ARCHER CRM Corp.'s Quality Management System (QMS)
?

Data management (artifact and sample records)
?

Compile multiple archaeological data sets and files (tables, photos, maps) into reports
?

Application of appropriate repository guidelines for the documentation and cataloguing of artifacts
?

Artifact photography and basic photo editing (Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator)
?

Liaise with specialist laboratories to organize analyses, including liaising with the Royal BC Museum
?

Potential collaboration with Interested Parties (such as museums, educational institutions, Indigenous


organizations, etc.)
?

Maintain existing lab systems, including the accurate filing and labelling of artifacts
?

Packing and shipping of artifacts and samples, completing appropriate chain-of-custody tracking information
?

Carry out conservation treatments and associated documentation under supervision
?

Contribution to lab procedures documents, as required
?

Responsible for the provision of quality, error free work. Attention to detail
?

Performs work in a professional manner, remains calm in stressful situations, and completes assignments


within allocated timeframes.
?

Adaptable to changing task priorities with good problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills
?

May provide field support when required by the Project Manager, Project Lead Archaeologist, and/or Field


Director


Preference given to those with the following skills/experience:
?

Knowledge and practical experience with archaeological materials and databases is a must.
?

Use of observational and problem-solving skills which demonstrate an ability to maintain and organize


procedures and systems
?

Technical writing and communication skills demonstrated with the submission of a writing sample during


application
?

High level organizational ability, detail oriented and methodical
?

Able to work as part of a team
?

Experience with Microsoft Office software and databases
?

Experience working in laboratory, museum and/or field settings

?



Valid Class 5 Driver's License
?

Ability to independently travel to and from the worksite location daily
?

Canadian Citizen, or legally eligible to work in Canada
?

Undergraduate degree (B.A. or B.Sc. in Archaeology/Anthropology)
?

A minimum of one(1) year of experience working with heritage objects and their organization (collections


management)


Remuneration:
?

Wage range $26.00 - $30.00 per hour, commensurate with demonstrated experience
?
