As the

Lab

Technician

, you would be responsible for basic laboratory operations and ensuring a high quality of service and accuracy. Croptimistic's soil lab plays a key role in supporting our precision agronomy services.

This is a temporary position.

Responsibilities

Perform routine laboratory procedures + Soil sample intake & data entry
+ Grind soils
+ Weigh soil samples
+ Run and monitor equipment
+ Extract and filter soil samples
Assist with the logistics and organisation of samples Thorough and accurate completion of data entry and documentation Follow lab procedures precisely to ensure consistent, reliable results Adhere to laboratory standard turn-around times Clean labware and laboratory workspaces Monitor and maintain inventory as required Maintain a safe testing environment that is compliant with policies and procedures Report any issues immediately to the Lab Manager to ensure production is not compromised

Requirements

Communication, organization and problem-solving skills Able to manage time efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Ability to use Microsoft Office Able to work independently and as part of a team Safety-conscious Valid driver's license High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience working in a lab environment is considered an asset Willing to work overtime, including Saturdays Physical ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, lift 50lbs occasionally, and manual dexterity * Able to wear personal protective equipment, such as dust masks and gloves
