Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Lab Supervisor. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this position will be responsible for managing the quality control and quality assurance of all ready mix products. This position is located in Vancouver, BC.

What You\'ll Get To Do:

• Evaluate production capabilities and recommend process improvement/changes to ensure product yields are maximized while maintaining strict quality standards.
• Develop, implement, and monitor quality standards, processes and controls.
• Supervises Quality Control staff including hiring, training, and reviewing performance.
• Gathers, analyzes, and reports quality control data and statistics.
• Maintains lab and testing equipment.
• Controls inventory by balancing production with on-hand inventory and forecasting/anticipating product demand.
• Manages customer relations and provides technical support to internal and external customers.
• Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, completion of required training, and monitoring compliance.
• Ensure lab continues to meet CCiL certification
• Proactively manage safety and health of employees to continuously improve the company\'s safety and health performance.
• Determine laboratory strategy to align with plant and company goals and objectives for product quality
• Maintain up to date and accurate quality control records and lab reports
• Interpret quality control test results, isolate problems, and resolve them
• Provides training and support to lab personnel and production employees in the performance of their duties.

Who we are looking for:

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline
• P.Eng. designation an asset
• Minimum 5 years in product testing/quality control in aggregate mining/production
• Previous supervisory experience an asset
• Project Management training an asset
• Computer proficiency
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to foster teamwork
• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Math and statistical analysis skills
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Experience on leading quality assurance programs
• Proficient in MS Office and SAP programs
• Understanding of the production process and ability to work in a heavy industrial environment

Work Environment:

• Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels
