About the role

We\'re hiring for a Pilot Plant Analyst to join our team immediately. No prior laboratory experience is necessary as comprehensive training will be provided. In this role, you\'ll be responsible for processing mining-related samples using standard procedures. Additionally, you\'ll contribute to our metallurgical laboratory by assisting in various preparatory tasks and mineral separation tests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting laboratory/pilot plant preparatory work including grinding samples in laboratory/pilot plant mills;
  • Using flotation cells, column leach units, innovative mining technology test units, and specialized chemicals to selectively extract minerals from ore samples;
  • Operating pilot plants; processing new and existing mineral deposits to extract minerals and test flowsheet parameters.
  • Collecting samples from process streams for analysis; Filtering, labelling and drying samples;
  • Using appropriate equipment to grind, sieve, crush, homogenize and split samples;
  • Adjusting, maintaining and calibrating equipment as trained as required;
  • Preparing chemical reagents;
  • Legibly and accurately recording process data on report sheets;
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by following all safety requirements of the laboratory;
About you:
  • Recognized Degree or Diploma in Science;
  • Analytical and mechanical skills;
  • Detail oriented, organized and highly motivated individual with a strong commitment to quality;
  • Good hand-eye coordination skills and manual dexterity to perform routine tasks;
  • Good organizational skills;
  • Able to lift filled 20 litre containers (25 kg);
  • Ability to stand for a full shift;
  • Clean shaven, when needed, in order to wear protective equipment;
  • Ability to work in a sometimes dusty and noisy environment while wearing appropriate PPE;
  • Skilled in effective English communication, both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working conditions with co-workers and work constructively as part of a team or independently;
  • Ability to work safely and follow safety regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Basic MS Office skills, specifically MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
