The position at a glance

The LoD1 KYC QA Team support the KYC/Due Diligence units (based on-shore and KYC Hubs) to deliver robust/sustainable KYC standards and develop KYC staff via continuous training. The team act as liaison where necessary between the Compliance functions to clarify policy points that need clarification. The team also ensure governance of any gaps in the KYC quality targets and provide action plans to relevant local or regional CEP management to increase the quality.

In detail

KYC QA Officer\xe2\x80\x99s Key Responsibilities * Provide Support in improving KYC file quality, oversight and governess to deliver quality targets expected by the senior management and applicable control policies (e.g. GCP/GCL etc.)

  • \'\'Perform post-approval quality assurance control\'\'
  • Perform monthly QA on the sample of files allocated by the Central LoD1 QA Team manager in Lisbon
  • Ensure QA has been completed within the allocated time ( normally 2 weeks after allocation)
  • Ensure monthly QA result/findings are reviewed and agreed with the SKYCO Team and local DDT management and QA results finalised before month end
3. \xe2\x80\x9cIdentify Root Causes of quality failure\xe2\x80\x9d
  • Identify root causes impacting KYC quality, agree fail points with stakeholders, define & track action plan for quality recovery & continuous improvement measures
  • Ensure KYC quality recovery action plan is in-place and on-track to address quality weaknesses identified in QA testing
4. \xe2\x80\x9cFile remediation tracking\xe2\x80\x9d
  • Track remediation of failed files during QA testing ( applicable for QA testing by LoD1 QA officer, LoD2 Compliance and IG)
  • Log failed files requiring PFR/TFU in the tracker and monitor progress. Remediation to be completed within 30 days and non-compliant files to be escalated to Head of KYC QA
5. \xe2\x80\x9c Collection of misalignments\xe2\x80\x9d
  • Collect KYC misalignment issues from your respective DD team and add in action log on KYC QA SharePoint
  • Issue Policy/SOP related guidance and engage with compliance or GCS Team etc. to find solutions on any complex policy / SOP related topics
  • Increase alignment on KYC and financial security processes to harmonise the operational process and thus improve KYC quality. Organise and lead monthly meeting with local financial security manager and discuss KYC quality related topics
6. KYC Quality Awareness & TEA ( training , education and advisory )
  • Drive awareness of regulatory requirements and boost expertise of KYC team by working closely with other members of LoD1 KYC QA Team, Due Diligence Academy, GCS Team and compliance functions
  • Organize and lead regular TEA ( training , education and advisory ) meetings with your DD Team ( on-shore and off-shore as the case maybe)
7. Global LoD1 KYC QA Community
  • Direct reporting to local CEP manager but \xe2\x80\x9cFunctionally\xe2\x80\x9d report to Global Head of KYC QA and training
  • Participate in Global KYC QA community meetings and contribute to the success of LoD1 QA framework
Time to time ad-hoc tasks may also be allocated to support the KYC quality related topics

Qualifications

The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
  • 5-7 years of experience in a related role
  • Knowledge of the English is required and Spanish a plus
  • Communication Skills: Able to interact with junior and senior staff across various departments in CIB including Compliance, Due Diligence, and the business where required.
  • AML/CFT Knowledge: Able to leverage on AML/CFT knowledge to formulate an assessment in keeping with the risk the client presents to the bank.
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced research, analytical and report writing skills: to review, analyse and evaluate findings. Also able to present complex issues in a succinct, simple and straightforward manner.
  • Understanding of EDD clients through the end-to-end KYC process
  • Bachelor Degree in a related discipline (i.e. business, finance, law \xe2\x80\xa6 etc.)
