The Country Hills Kumon centre located in Calgary NW is hiring Math Teaching Assistants. Kumon is the world's largest supplemental education company. We offer after-school math and reading programs to children K-12. Our mission is to offer a fun and motivational environment for our students so that learning becomes enjoyable and every student can reach their maximum potential.

We are looking for individuals to work a minimum of 2 evenings per week an educational setting. Teacher's assistants will be working and interacting with students between grade 1-12. Assistants will be marking work, guiding them on our math questions and assisting them in learning to problem solve the questions which builds students'confidence. Primary duties will be grading student classwork and homework. Other duties will also include assisting students with questions, general office tasks and housekeeping chores.

Requirements:

Minimum requirement: completion of 2nd year university level math or completion of advanced levels in Kumon Math program, Math 31 or 31 IB preferred. A highschool level Math test will be given to selected candidates.

Must be focused, diligent, and enjoy working with children

Outgoing and service oriented personality.

Energetic & proactive (ability to work well under pressure & multitask).

Punctual, well organized, detailed oriented, and reliable.

Must be respectful and polite, show professionalism, punctuality, and a willingness to learn.

Previous tutoring experiences highly desirable.

Preferred availability : Mon - Thurs 3:30pm - 7:30pm / Saturday 10:00am - 2:00pm
