Position Summary:

The KITE research Institute at UHN is seeking an experienced Knowledge Translation and Implementation Coordinator to fill a contract position until March 31, 2024, with the option of renewal depending on funding from the Ontario Ministry of Health. This individual will support and assist in coordinating, implementing and balancing multiple research projects (Neurotrauma Care Pathways Project, Can-SCIP Project and Neurorehab Program). This individual will support the production of the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Provincial Report Card and Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Data Report, and the updates, knowledge mobilization and implementation of living brain injury and spinal cord injury guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Knowledge Translation:

  • Coordinate and lead consensus meetings of key stakeholders, producing meeting materials and minutes
  • Distill conversations into recommendations and coordinate and synthesize stakeholder feedback
  • Work with key TBI and SCI stakeholders to develop, operationalize and interpret data indicators
  • Produce Knowledge Translation materials written for different audiences (lay, clinical, health planning and government) in different formats
  • Generation of reports and data analysis required for knowledge products (reports, presentations, etc.).
Implementation:
  • Identify collaborative tools to facilitate sharing of ideas and work within the Project Team and external partners
  • Work with stakeholders to create operational definitions and implementation mechanisms for the core set of data indicators
  • Work collaborative with the Neurotrauma Pathways project Implementation Leads to support implementation of quality indicators
Support Program Manager as needed with additional administrative and organizational tasks

Attributes
  • Knowledge of Implementation Science frameworks.
  • Ability to develop new relationships and cultivate partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead meetings and manage competing interests to ensure achievement of deliverables.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for a variety of audiences; ability to communicate in French is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative and sound judgement.
  • Comfortable working in variety of environments and settings.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience working within an Implementation framework and with Knowledge Mobilization strategies.
  • Previous experience preparing Knowledge Translation materials for different audiences and platforms.
  • Personal and/or professional experience working with people living with neurotrauma (brain injury and/or spinal cord injury is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coordinating and leading consensus meetings with a broad group of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and within a team.
  • Degree or studies in sciences, health care administration or process management in addition to related experience.
  • Knowledge of Ontario health care delivery system, including hospitals, primary care, rehab and community service provision.
