Job Description


The Research Office is responsible for advancing the research enterprise of the University by obtaining, allocating, and administrating research grants, negotiating research contracts, and ensuring compliance to national and international standards in human and animal ethics certification.

The Knowledge Mobilization Coordinator is a part-time term position (10-20 hours per week) that will provide administrative support in the area of knowledge mobilization and translation. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for populating the new knowledge mobilization platform, Yaffle \xe2\x80\x93 UWinnipeg, along with coordinating with Yaffle third-party contacts and internal UWinnipeg departments toward the launch of this platform. Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to Research Office in the area of knowledge mobilization resources, specifically in the coordination of the Yaffle-UW pilot program.
  • Oversees and maintains Yaffle-UW requirements with regards to the various functions of the site, including for networking, profiles, projects, and geographical data.
  • Supports Lead Program Officer, Research Partnerships in creation and maintenance of researcher project libraries pertaining to research agreements, projects, and programs, both in the past and those ongoing.
  • Assists with updates and modifications to the content of University\xe2\x80\x99s website.
  • Contributes to reporting on the process and status of the Yaffle-UW pilot to UW Administration and external third parties as requested.
  • Gathers and analyses data and statistics related to research profiles.
  • Plans and/or conducts presentations on Yaffle-UW and Knowledge Mobilization services and activities at UW.
  • Responds to inquiries from individual researchers about Yaffle-UW and Knowledge Mobilization activities at the institution.
  • Act as an editor and coordinator for content to be developed for the Yaffle-UW platform, shared from researchers, staff, and/or students.
  • Provides back-up to other positions in the area of Knowledge Mobilization.
  • Liaises, coordinates, and initiates correspondence with staff at The Harris Centre and Research Impact Canada to ensure the successful set-up and launch of Yaffle-UW.
  • Liaises with UW Communications to coordinate the centralization of the Experts Guide and transfer of information from the Guide into Yaffle-UW.
  • Liaises with the Technology Services Centre to ensure the correct level of security and tech capacity for Yaffle-UW.
  • Acts as the main point of contact with all offices and organizations on the Yaffle-UW pilot program.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year in an office setting.
  • Experience in the use of standard office equipment,
  • Experience studying, researching, or working in post-secondary environment an asset.
  • Experience in organizing and managing large amounts of data.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct oneself with a high degree of professionality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills including use of specialized software for website maintenance, experience with Microsoft 365 an asset.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent file management / organization skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve.
  • Ability to work with interruptions.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and coordinate work activities within and between work groups and supervise secretarial, accounting and complex clerical functions.
  • Ability to understand and/or contribute to University specific policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations, deadlines and ensure compliance with them.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of students, staff, public and external contacts.

The salary range for this position will be from $24.64 to $33.97 per hour.
