Job Description

We are looking for an experienced full-time Kitchen Manager to join our team.

You MUST have at least 3 years of previous baking and food service experience in a cafe-type setting

and be

confident to work independent and lead a small team.

You will follow bake-off in the morning, production, and food orders each day. You will also need to know how to manage inventory levels and make new production lists for the next day's shift.

Communication, quality, and consistency are key to success.

You will help develop and deliver new food items throughout the year. You must have experience in recipe development, costing and product sourcing/ordering. We are a cafe and make cafe-type baked goods as well as our own sauces, syrups, and drink ingredients. We also offer a made-to-order food menu of breakfast sandwiches, granola, lunch sandwiches and salad.

We are a small, and very busy cafe that has a strong team of experienced bakers and baristas who work well together. Our operations are nicely put together and the position is best suited for someone who is self-directed and fits into the vibe and culture of our space.

Minimum 3+ years of experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment Minimum 3+ years of experience in a bakery AND food preparation role Creative and self-directed Order, inventory and food costing Passion for seasonal, ingredient-driven food Has strong principles in regard to proper cooking techniques, and an eye for detail Keen understanding of kitchen operations and workflow, and cleanliness Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Responsible for working during cafe-style hours, which includes mornings starting at 530am-130pm Tips and perks included

Candidates MUST possess ALL of these attributes:

Opening display of all baked goods before the cafe opens. Ensuring care is taken for all ingredients and displaying proper technique and safe handling. Responsible for creating and following standardized recipes and portioning for completed dishes. Inventory, cleaning, organizing, and maintenance. Ensures correct use, storage, and cleaning of all kitchen equipment and facility. Responsible for working in a clean, and organized manner. Complies with local food safety regulations. Inventory tracking and ordering Menu planning, recipe development and costing
