The ideal candidate will have experience in a larger kitchen preparing pre made lunches and preparing breakfast and snacks. We would also need you to cover staff breaks and be willing to step into a classroom if needed.
Duties
Create lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math, and physical education activities.
Manage classroom behavior effectively while promoting positive interactions among students.
Provide individualized support for children with special needs through early intervention strategies.
Foster a safe and inclusive environment that encourages exploration and learning.
Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Collaborate with parents and guardians to support children's learning at home.
Maintain a clean and organized classroom conducive to learning.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
Skills
Alberta Food Safety Certification (free Alberta Health Services online course)
Strong knowledge of food safety and how to safely prepare food for children.
Clean and neat with organizational skills
Ability to wash dishes, tidy kitchen, food inventory, take food temperatures and follow all Alberta Health Services guidelines for food handling.
Familiar with the Canada Food Guide.
Experience with children in a child care setting.
