About the Role



We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented

Kitchen Supervisor / Operations Lead

to oversee daily production in our food manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all products are prepared, cooked, and packaged according to strict quality, safety, and efficiency standards (CFIA/SQF-compliant).

You will lead a team on the production floor, maintain workflow, manage kitchen operations, and ensure all recipes and processes are consistently followed.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Kitchen Operations



Oversee day-to-day kitchen and production activities (prep, cooking, filling, assembly, packing). Ensure recipes, batch sheets, and SOPs are followed with 100% accuracy. Manage cooking processes for products such as empanadas, sauces, frozen meals, smoothies, and appetizers. Monitor critical control points (temperature, cook times, cooling, metal detection, weight checks, etc.) and ensure proper documentation. Coordinate with Operations Manager on production schedules and raw material availability. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and production area.

Team Leadership



Supervise production staff and assign daily tasks. Train team members on SOPs, hygiene, and equipment procedures. Monitor staff performance and ensure consistent productivity. Foster a positive, respectful, and efficient work environment.

Quality & Compliance



Ensure compliance with CFIA, SQF, HACCP, and internal food safety programs. Complete all required logs: sanitation, temperature, batch records, waste tracking, allergen control. Work with QA team during audits, inspections, and corrective actions. Uphold strict hygiene and food-safety standards at all times.

Inventory & Equipment



Monitor raw materials, packaging, and supplies; alert procurement when stock is low. Oversee proper use, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment (mixers, ovens, vacuum sealers, fryers, kettles, etc.). Reduce waste and improve yield through proper handling and portioning.

Continuous Improvement



Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and streamline workflows. Help develop new SOPs and optimize existing processes. Support new product testing and scaling up recipes for production.

Qualifications



Minimum 2-3 years of experience in food manufacturing, commercial kitchen, or production leadership. Strong understanding of food safety regulations (HACCP, SQF, CFIA). Experience supervising small to medium teams on a production floor. Ability to multitask and manage multiple batches at once. Comfortable with fast-paced, high-volume environments. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to lift 30-50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Preferred



Experience with frozen foods, ready-meals, empanadas, or sauce manufacturing. Knowledge of production logs, batch records, and CCP documentation. Experience working with industrial kitchen equipment. Basic computer literacy (production sheets, labels, inventory systems).
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00-$32.00 per hour
